Sermon Podcasts

If you have iTunes, you know the variety of things you can find. In my library you can find songs from Wall-E, by Hannah Montana, Jason Mraz, Kanye West, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, P!nk, and Survivor (you know…Eye of the Tiger).

Then, I found Podcasts and, of course, once I saw that they were all free I started downloading like crazy. Why not try some new things? If that’s not good enough, once you subscribe to a Podcast it automatically updates you with the last episode the next time you pull up iTunes.

Of the Podcasts I downloaded and subscribed to, I downloaded several semons by a preacher named Matt Chandler.

Now, don’t get all Ugh, stupid Christians with their denim skirts and Holy-Ned-Flanders-like talk who go to church every Sunday and think they’re better than the rest of us. Because if you even dare think about hitting that x button, I will tase you.

I’m as sick of the stereotypical sermons as much as the next guy. I don’t like getting up early to hear “There was a girl. She died. We’re all going to die. The end.” Since the move, we’ve had to find a new church and I’m not completely happy about the church we’re going to now. The one pastor has a really high pitch voice and emphasizes every syllable when he needs to make a point. So much so, that it’s hard to understand what the sermon is about.

What I really like about Matt Chandler’s sermons is that he only goes through a segment of the Gospel at a time. It’s impossible to lose track or day-dream, because you actually understand what he’s talking about. Plus, there’s even some humor, too.

Whether you’re going to spend the rest of the day on YouTube, or are on your way to work or school, I encourage you to download one of the sermons here, or click here for iTunes. You can also view the church’s website here.

Let me know what you think!
